The grand opening of this museum by India's the Hon.
Lal Krishna Advani, Deputy Prime Minister & Home
Minister ( 1998 to 2004 ) took place on Saturday 24 July 2004.
What a day!
About 10,000 children and six continental floats
( prepared by school children ) formed a carnival through the
city. Large flags of 91 countries were put up on both sides of
the road of the entire route. About 1000 banners of Rotary Midtown
Dolls Museum were placed in all the main areas of the city.

To celebrate a “United World”, all
the children were given small flags of different countries to
wave throughout the event. Children who participated in this carnival
were given free entry tickets to the Museum. A police band accompanied
them all along the route. Seven "continent kids" were
dressed in ethnic doll dresses similar to the dresses of dolls
originally received.

18 national TV channels covered
the event. 12 local channels showed the event live
in the city. 28 newspapers covered before and after
the event.

Mr.Advani said in his speech
that he has inaugurated many projects, but there are few which really
serves people & they can enjoy, this is the ONE.

Amongst other dignitaries, Finance Minister
of Gujarat State,
Tourism Minister of Gujarat State, and the District
Governor remained present. Also about & 250+Rotarians were present
from different Rotary Clubs.

grand tribute to those entire 550 Rotary Clubs of
91 countries that has already sent a doll. |
